Privacy notice
This notice explains what information we keep about you, why we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Last updated 5 October 2026
Information you give us
When you open an account, you give us your name, email address, phone number, and home address. You also choose a password and two PINs. We store your password and PINs in a scrambled form, so nobody at Silvermere Bank can read them.
If you verify your identity, we keep the type and number of your document, the photos of it you upload, and your selfie. If you deposit a check, we keep the images you send. If you apply for a loan, grant, or tax refund, we keep the details you enter on the form, such as your employment status and monthly income.
Information we record as you bank
- Your accounts, balances, transactions, cards, and applications.
- The messages you send us through Support, and our replies.
- The devices signed in to your profile, including the browser and internet address of each one. You can see this list yourself in Settings.
- A record of actions taken on your profile by our staff, with the name of the staff member and the reason they gave.
Why we use it
We use your information to run your accounts and process your payments, to confirm who you are, to protect you and the bank from fraud, to answer your questions, and to send you the notifications and emails described on this website. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Members of our staff can see the information they need to do their job, and every action they take on your profile is recorded. Your identity documents and check images are stored away from the public website and shown only to staff who review them.
We use an email provider to deliver the messages we send you. Our pages also load a typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit.
Cookies
We use the cookies that are needed to keep you signed in and to protect our forms from misuse. When live chat is available, it is provided by another company and only switched on if you accept its cookies. We do not use advertising cookies. Our cookies page lists each one.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you have an account with us, and afterwards for as long as we need to meet our legal and record keeping duties.
Your choices
- You can see most of your information in online banking at any time.
- To correct your name, email, phone, address, or date of birth, ask for the change in Settings and our team will review it.
- To ask for a copy of your information, or to close your account, write to us.
